Information Technology ![]() |
| Information Technology can be defined briefly as the use of computer hardware and software to store, retrieve and manipulate information. |
![]() |
| There are a lot of advantage and disadvantage in Information technology |
SUPERCOMPUTER
![]() |
| fastest computer ,most powerful computer are capable of processing more than one quadrallion |
Supercomputers
were introduced in the 1960s, made initially, and for decades primarily, by Seymour
research chat (CDC), Cray research and subsequent companies bearing his name or monogram.
While the supercomputers of the 1970s used only a few processors in the 1990s, machines with thousands
of processors began to appear and, by the end of the 20th century massively
parallel supercomputers with tens
of thousands of
processors were the normal.
Supercomputers play
an important role in the field of computational science, and are used for a wide range of computationally
intensive tasks in various fields, including quantum mechanics, weather forecasting, climate research, oil and gas exploration, molecular modeling (computing
the structures and properties of chemical compounds,, polymers, and crystals),
and physical simulations (such as simulations of the early moments of the
universe, airplane and spacecraft aerodynamics, the detonation of nuclear weapons, and nuclear fusion). Throughout their history, they have been essential in the
field of cryptanalysis
MAINFRAME
![]() |
| a mainframe is large ,expensive, powerful computer that can handle hundreds of thousands of connected users simultaneously |
The term originally referred to the large cabinets called
"main frames" that housed the central processing unit and main memoryof early computers. Later, the term was used to
distinguish high-end commercial machines from less powerful units. Most large-scale computer system
architectures were established in the 1960s, but continue to evolve
PERSONAL COMPUTER
-can perform all of its input ,processing , output and storage activities by itself
-two popular architecture are PC and Apple
A
range of software applications ("programs") are
available for personal computers including, but are not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, web browsers and e-mail, digital mediaplayback, video games and many
personal productivity and special-purpose software applications. In the 2010s,
PCs are typically connected to the Internet, allowing access to
the World Wide Web and other resources. Personal computers may be
connected to a local area network(LAN), either by a cable or a wireless connection. In
the 2010s, a PC may be a portable laptop computer or a
multi-component desktop computer, which is designed for use in a fixed
location. In the 2010s, PCs run using an operating system (OS),
such as Microsoft Windows, Linux (and
the various operating systems based on it), or Macintosh (OS).
MOBILE DEVICE
A mobile
device is a small computing device, typically small enough to be handheld (and hence also
commonly known as a handheld
computer or simply handheld), having a display screen with a
miniature keyboard
EMBEDDED COMPUTER
An embedded
system is a computer system with
a dedicated function within a larger mechanical or electrical system, often with real-time computing constraints. It is embedded as part of a complete device often including
hardware and mechanical parts. Embedded systems control many devices in common
use today
